There is a great amount of representations of bats in maya culture, one of the most striking ones, is a glyph on a stone with a the profile of a bat. This representation is present in a great ammount of inscriptions and some ceramic pieces of the classic mayan period. It has been found at the base of the monuments and holds a pre-noun that indicates posession, therefore it has been concluded that the bat glyph was part of the signature of the author, and the previous glyph indicates “sculped by…”
